About The Lakewood BlueClaws

Dear Lakewood BlueClaws Fans,

Welcome back to FirstEnergy Park for the 2008 season. Last year the BlueClaws reached the three million fan plateau in just our seventh season, and we could not be more excited to see what is possible in year eight. We were the fastest team in New Jersey and South Atlantic League history to reach three million fans, and we obviously owe that to you, the best fans in baseball.

Last season was a special year, not only for the competitive team that we put on the field every single game, but also because a few of your favorite Phillies stars donned a BlueClaws uniform. Ryan Howard’s towering three-run home run in one of his two rehab starts in May will undoubtedly go down in BlueClaws history. So will the late-season game when both Rod Barajas and Shane Victorino started for the BlueClaws, the first time in team history that two Major Leaguers rehabbed in the same game.

We would like to thank Governor Jon Corzine, State Senator Robert Singer, and Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles, along with the entire Township Committee and Lakewood Development Corporation for their help and support in the success of the BlueClaws. And we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank Phillies President David Montgomery and the entire Phillies organization. Without their knowledge and support the BlueClaws would not be where we are today.

For those here for the first time, welcome to FirstEnergy Park. It is our goal to make your complete experience as enjoyable, entertaining, and family-friendly as possible. We are proud to bring back our three picnic areas throughout the ballpark, our BluePen section, our expanded Kid Zone, and much, much more.

We have dozens of great promotions that we are truly enthusiastic about for the 2008 season, in addition to a number of celebrities who will be appearing throughout the year. Be sure to pick up one of our free game-day programs, Catch of the Day, for all the latest BlueClaws stats, news and promotional information, plus a scorecard so you can stay on top of the game.

The BlueClaws have the best fans in minor league baseball and we will continue to make FirstEnergy Park a fun and exciting place to visit. We are anxious to offer you the best entertainment and the most enjoyable experience you can possibly imagine. We look forward to seeing you at FirstEnergy Park all summer long!

Let’s Go BlueClaws!

Yours in fun,

Lakewood BlueClaws
